 On June 7, 2013, Consul General Sunaga visited Seigakuin Atlanta International School with his wife, where they received a tour from principal Ahearn. After the tour, the principal provided information on the history of the school and explained the schools mission. The Consul General spoke with the principal about the unique learning environment at the school which emphasizes American and Japanese cultural education through interactions with international staff and students.


 Consul General Sunaga and the members of the school board discussed how the ability to speak Japanese from a young age is a valuable skill which will benefit the students in the future. The Consul General praised the effort made by the school in order to help students retain their Japanese outside of the classrooms. Seigakuin International School emphasizes the development of students who are well-rounded in their education and cultural understanding.
